Give the gift of glam this holiday season with stenciled Christmas gift-wrap! What better way to complement your thoughtful gift than to wrap it in something you made. This season we got inspired by Hollywood regency glitzy glamour, and created our own DIY wrapping paper using geometric shapes, black and white, and lots and lots of luxurious metallics! Here’s how we did it:

Supplies:

Step 1: Using pencil and scissors, measure and cut the wrapping paper according to the size and amount of the gift boxes that you will eventually wrap. Doing this first will help avoid wasting any material and making extra work for yourself.

Step 2: Stencil your sheets of wrapping papers with your favorite patterns and paints using a stencil brush. Let dry.

Step 3: Time to wrap your Christmas presents with your pretty stenciled wrapping paper! Give your gifts a finishing touch by wrapping embellished ribbons around the gifts and creating luxurious bows. Remember to mix and match pattern and colors! Hollywood Regency is all about combining materials, patterns, lux, and sparkle!

For this project, we used the Flat Black Royal Stencil Creme and Pure White Chalk Paint to stencil on the Sonic Border StencilGet Ziggy With It Stencil, and All The Angles Stencil onto the silver wrapping paper. By using the flat paints for the metallic paper and the metallic paints for the flat paper, we added more contrast to our DIY wrapping paper.

An eco-conscious alternative to wrapping paper is a decorative gift box that can be repurposed! After the gift is removed, store delicate Christmas decorations inside or display on a mantel as a decoration itself! Using Jennifer Rizzo’s Mix and Match Christmas Stencils, we layered stencil designs on top of each other to give each box a unique one of a kind design. This is a great project you can do with your kids! They can let their imaginations run wild mixing stencil combinations! Just make sure that each layer is thoroughly dry before you layer the next design!

Stencil Gift bags are easy to personalize and also a great activity for you and your kids! This idea is also the most cost effective, especially if you need to do a bunch of small gifts for a soccer team, your colleagues, or a classroom! Buy a bulk package of solid gift bags and then mix and match Jennifer Rizzo Christmas stencils with various Red and Green Chalk Paint blends and you’re done! There are enough combinations that each bag can have an individual look! What’s great is that you can reuse your stencils on another project and spread the festive flare allover your house too! We love the holidays here and these stencils have been colorized for Christmas – which is so much fun, but if you use your imagination you’ll see that stencils are the ultimate eco-friendly decorating tool you’ll ever buy. They are always reusable with endless possibilities in creativity. Don’t believe us? Here are some examples. The antlers, reindeer and pine tree stencils would be really cute for a rustic home décor accents like a throw pillow in the family room.  And the shining star, marching stars, and Falling Stars would be cute in the back of a kids’ bookcase.
