You can never go wrong with bold geometric patterns when decorating a nursery. The modern shapes of our Shape of Things Wall Stencil painted with strong primary colors kick white walls into high gear. Infants' developing eyes are drawn to high color contrast, so a stenciled accent wall would be the perfect learning tool for that wide eyed curiosity. Sweet stencil for baby's room

First time stenciler here (but I have art painting experience). I really liked the way it turned out for our new baby's room. It was time consuming and a labor of love to use 3 colors on the stencil, but the finished product made it worth it.
I learned a lot from working on this painting project. A couple things to know, especially if this is your first project like it was for me:
- **MUST HAVE** SUPPLIES: Starting the project, I thought I just needed the stencil and the paint. I already had 1" and 3/4" detail brushes previously, but they just didn't not work well. Buying a set of stencil brushes and a can of adhesive spray to help the stencil stick against the wall were both necessary. I can't imagine doing this project without the adhesive on the stencil back, because the stencil would simply not have lain flush to the wall and more paint would have gone beyond the stencil edges.
- FREEHAND PAINTING: Even with the adhesive, and consistently tamping extra paint out of the brushes (as the how-to video says to do), some amount of paint always went outside the stencil outline, so I had to have extra background paint color on hand that I went back to touch up the edges with. This was very time consuming but I found it to be an extra step that was needed.
