Surprise! A New Free Stencil Gift for You Every Month

Freebies are always so much fun, especially when they are pretty and usable!

Did you know that for all of this year, Royal Design Studio is including a beautiful free Stencil of the Month with every order? No matter how small the order, you will find a cute little stencil wrapped up with your shipment with our compliments. What’s best is that the designs change every month and they are inspired by our monthly theme on our daily digital design magazine Paint + Pattern.

During the month of February Paint+Pattern was inspired by Africa, and Royal Design Studio gave away the adorable African Protea Flower Stencil. We shared a couple of How-to stencil projects that were created in our studio to inspire our readers on different ways this stencil could be used on everyday objects.

Take a look at this stenciled pillow project that can be easily done on store-bought pillows using Royal Design Studio's metallic Stencil Creme Paints. To learn more about how you could create these for your homes, visit Stencil How-to: DIY Stenciled Pillows with our African Protea Stencil

We also updated a stencil brush box here in our studio with this fun, Art Deco-inspired flower design. See how we completed this fast and easy stencil project using the African Protea Stencil on Stencil How-to: Using Chalk Paint® to Stencil a Custom Brush Box.

If you missed out on our free stencil offer back in February, don’t worry, we have you covered. You can still buy this beautiful African Protea Furniture Stencil here.

The Amisha Motif stencil was the stencil of the month for March 2014 in honor of the land of beauty, culture and lots of color – 'Incredible India!' We tested out this stencil on a simple wooden cachepot. The base coat was done using a combination of colors from Royal Design Studio’s Chalk Paint collection.

We hope these DIY stencil ideas inspire you to create wonderful stenciled projects of your own. And if so, be sure to share the process with us by sharing your pictures on our Facebook Page, or send them directly to We would love to feature the cool things you create!

Martha, please see our Border Stencils Collection here There are some nice flowing border stencils and some even have corner tile stencils to match, which would make stenciling in the corners easy. Yes, Chalk Paint would be perfect for stenciling on a floor!! Hope that helps :)

Need ideas for wood floor borders of room to hide ugly spots, holes, etc from carpet tacking strips. Prefer vintage flowing design, subtle. Plan to use white paint. Chalk paint? Then cover with coat of sealer. Ornate (flowery?) flowing design. First time, simple to do.
