Stenciling is a fast, easy, and inexpensive way to customize and update any surface in your house with paint, including walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, and fabric. Stenciling is generally done using either stencil brushes or stencil rollers. You can stencil with craft acrylic paints, latex wall paint, or our specially designed Royal Stencil Creme paints. This is a stunning stencil but there is something ‘off’ about it. Perhaps the design itself is wonky but although I’m using a spirit level and doing everything right, it comes out looking crooked. I’ll try it a third time and after stenciling the right side, I’ll tip it ever-so-slightly to the right to see if this helps. I truly believe it’s a design/production flaw. Weirdly when I take a photo, it looks just fine but even my husband can see it looks crooked.
Hello Amy, thanks for sharing your stencil review and feedback. This particular pattern was intentionally designed for a rustic, hand done feel, so not all the lines are perfectly horizontal or vertical, but it really looks great!
I love the look on your website, but realized it looks best at a distance. The ruffled edges look odd up close and the room I was painting isn't large enough to get that far away from it so it doesn't "read" the same as your own image.
This is a quality stencil, waiting to use in my new home thank you.
Moroccan Lace Stencil
I used this on 2 patios in Arizona. The Moroccan style works very well in this desert. I used outdoor Patio Paints, and after 4 years, still looks good. This stencil used on the floor looks like an oriental carpet. I still have the stencil i bought years ago, I just clean it up each time I use it. The companion stencils in this group re also excellent for the desert look.
