Our stencils are laser cut in our San Diego, California, USA studio from durable 10mil Mylar plastic sheets. With minimal care, stencils can be used repeatedly for many different projects and on multiple surfaces. Stenciling is a fast, easy, and inexpensive way to customize and update any surface in your house with paint, including walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, and fabric. Stenciling is generally done using either stencil brushes or stencil rollers. You can stencil with craft acrylic paints, latex wall paint, or our specially designed Royal Stencil Creme paints. This stencil was very easy to use and forgiving of any mistakes.
I had an error on my address and I reached out several times to plead them to please resend the stencil. They were unwilling to work with me even though I was going to take the loss of initial shipping cost + pay for the new shipping cost. Terrible customer service. They do not care about people, what a waste of time and money to try to order from them.
Followed the blog instructions and had a new closet in just a few hours! I'm still not sure I understood how to do the edges (that was the hardest part, trying to bend the pattern into place) but I think having the two tones to play with made it very fun and advantageously forgiving.

This was my first RDS stencil. I read they were high quality, but now I know first hand how good they are. I have not stenciled a lot, but I paint a lot. I did not have to fix any areas. It was a little slow going around a door, and where my stencil ended which was at a horizontal wainscot piece. I used a 1.5 in stencil brush and a 2 in round stencil sponge - the sponge was faster and easier. I went back when I was done and used a small artist brush and freehanded to fill in the areas hard to get. You would never know. I am trying to get my friends to use this stencil now with different colors. I even volunteered to do it for them!
