There is no such thing as being pigeonholed when it comes to creativity, especially when stenciling is involved. In addition to our fabulous Furniture Stencil Collection, we also have a large collection of Wall Stencils that can be the perfect addition to painted furniture pieces as well. So, if you’re not up for painting an entire wall, consider introducing pattern to your next furniture painting project with a large scale stencil. Here are 15 stencil ideas that highlight how you can make a big impact on a small surface with wall stencils:
Our Florentine Damask Wall Stencil works perfectly to enhance an elegant bedroom on both the dresser AND the walls. This stenciled space by Southern Inspirations is the perfect example of how versatile stencils are. They can be reused repeatedly and on any surface you can paint on! Simply change your colors and surface and you have a whole new point of view.
This table was a thrift store piece that was close to being thrown out. Canary Street Crafts saw potential in this table and thought it would be a beautiful piece if it was given second chance to impress. With a little tender loving care and a short amount of time, she used our Foliate Damask Stencil and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® to revive it back to its second life as a gorgeous piece of furniture!
Q is for Quandie loves our Antoinette Damask Wall Stencil so much that she used this pattern on not one, but TWO dressers! For both dressers, she took out the dresser drawers and stenciled the first pattern smack dab in the middle so that the allover design was symmetrical and centered. Which stenciled shabby chic dresser is your favorite – the charcoal or taupe?
It looks like we have another charcoal and taupe dynamic duo! Girl in the Garage decorated these two dressers with our Cherry Blossom Stencil and Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan. Since this stencil set includes different versions of the cherry blossom branches to free form a custom design, she was able to create a different look on each piece.
Creative customer Karen Speer says, “So happy with Royal Design Studio’s Flock of Birds Wall Stencil and Royal Stencil Crème paints. They made this project easy and look great!” Her stenciled furniture soars above the rest, don’t you think?
Apartment Therapy shares that this DIY stencil project by Burlap+Blue will make you a stencil believer. This was Burlap+Blue’s first time stenciling, but she had no trouble decorating a cabinet with kelly green paint and our Endless Circles Lattice Wall Stencil. She stenciled just the back of the cabinet so that the pattern creates the perfect backdrop for her white china collection.
Want to create the same look that Carters Cottage did above? All you need is a bit of Napoleonic and Graphite Chalk Paint®, Artisan Enhancements Leaf & Foil Size, gold foil, and our Deco Damask Wall Stencil. Make this project even easier by substituting our Royal Stencil Crème paint in metallic Antique Gold.
For a classic Italian design, Kathie Jordan Design opted for our easy-to-use Fortuny Damask Wall Stencil to decorate the drawers of this dresser. This elegant damask pattern in a rustic finish did just the trick!
Our typography stencils and Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan create the perfect shabby chic look! Simpler Times Designs loves the large scale of the Springtime in Paris Lettering Stencil but didn’t have a wall to use it on. Instead, she decorated this furniture piece. The light, romantic script adds just the right amount of design without overwhelming the piece.
Top off your table with typography! This shabby chic table is another great example of how our larger wall stencils can be just as gorgeous on furniture. Swirl Boutique loves that our Springtime in Paris Lettering Stencil is a bigger font and doesn’t look as busy as a smaller font would.
