Our stencils are laser cut in our San Diego, California, USA studio from durable 10mil Mylar plastic sheets. With minimal care, stencils can be used repeatedly for many different projects and on multiple surfaces. Stenciling is a fast, easy, and inexpensive way to customize and update any surface in your house with paint, including walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, and fabric. Stenciling is generally done using either stencil brushes or stencil rollers. You can stencil with craft acrylic paints, latex wall paint, or our specially designed Royal Stencil Creme paints. Warning: this stencil gives you the background not the weave pattern. In other words, in the example pictures on the website, the colors (NOT white) are what you get with the stencil. I was hoping for a stencil that gave me the loose weave (the white in the pictures).
Also, this was much harder than I expected. The corners were incredibly difficult even after watching the videos. Everything just smeared. I ended up giving up and just painting my wall another color. So disappointed. Money lost. Learn from my mistake.
We're sorry to hear you were disappointed! We try to be very clear what areas of the stencil pattern are cut out and will be painted by the illustrations we include on every stencil page. Yes, stenciling in corners can be very challenging and time consuming to get them perfect.
