Erica of Spoonful of Imagination wanted to jazz up the walls around her home with color, pattern, and personality. She loves using stencils to pull off all the creative ideas she comes up with. There is something so fun about being creative yet having the right stencil to guide you and help you pull off the project with ease. So what was her next stencil project she wanted to tackle? Actually it was TWO stencil projects – a different stenciled accent wall for both her daughter’s and sons’ bedrooms. Let’s see how these 2 kids’ rooms were transformed into a patterned playrooms with the help of Royal Design Studio wall stencils:
Erica was thrilled that our Petal Play Floral Damask Wall Stencil and Asmir Triangle Wall Stencil arrived with detailed instructions on how to use the stencils. The instructions break the stencil process down and gave Erica confidence in to tackle these two stencil projects.
For both kids’ rooms, she chose to use a stippling effect with the brush, which is much like dry brush dabbing. This creates a little more of a distressed look that is not completely painted in solid. This is the beauty of not going with traditional wallpaper – she could do it her way!
The two accent walls in the kids’ rooms came out even better than she was expecting! They were the perfect punch of fun, whimsical pattern that she was hoping to create. Now these rooms match the fun personalities of the kids who live in them!
