It looks like a LOT of homes still have those ugly vinyl floors, but don’t worry if you have one too! Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, Floor Lacquer Sealant, and our Casablanca Trellis Stencil can make it look like you ripped out that vinyl and put in new flooring. Look how Studio 184’s floor makeover turned out!

Here’s our PRO tip for stenciling and painting old vinyl flooring that will last….

  • Clean the floor well by scrubbing with a soft, gritty cleanser and rinse thoroughly. This will effectively create some “tooth” for the surface to accept paint.
  • Prime the vinyl with a coat or two of Kilz, Zinsser Bullseyre, or a similar bonding primer for shiny or hard to paint surfaces
  • After painting and stenciling in the colors and patterns you love, seal the floor with 2 coats of a water-based urethane floor finish.
