Difficult but worth it.

This is the second time I have used this stencil on a small hallway wall. Since the wall was so small, approx 9-10’ long by 7’ tall, with a door and a thermostat, I found the large stencil to be unwieldy and i started using my first stencil I had bought a number of years ago which was cut up into pieces which was more manageable for a wall not large enough to use more than one column of full sized stencil due to having to go around the door, thermostat and light switch. I also tried the spray adhesive but did find it pulled off some of my background paint. Due to the print, I was having to paint each individual part of the print separately so it is quite labor intensive. Also, towards the end of my project I discovered that makeup brushes are much more manageable, precise and easier to control. Also I recommend adding a little acrylic painters gel to your paint to give the paint more body so it is easier to control. Wall was creamy off white with a very dark gray (almost black.)

Beautiful chic design

Loved using this stencil. I actually used it on the floor in a dining room came out wonderful. Very chic. And always great customer service at Royal stencil. Thank you.

Thanks for the nice stencil review! Your newly stenciled floor look great. Love how your left the blank border around the edges of the stenciling :)

Stunning!

Loved this stencil! I used it in my son's safari themed nursery and it looks fabulous!

I watched a bunch of tutorials prior to starting my project and they were very helpful.

Great to work with

I used this stencil to create a yellow and white accent wall in my bathroom and it was easy to work with. I had read and watched the tutorials prior to starting my project and they were very helpful. It still took me a few attempts to get the right balance between amount of paint on the roller and pressure applied to the wall while rolling. The first few squares stenciled show some serious bleeding in places, but after I got a grip on the technique, the rest of them came out nice and crisp. I recommend doing a few practice rounds if possible.
Painters tape didn't work for me to keep the stencil on the wall as my wall is a bit rough and textured and the stencil was too heavy for the tape. I also tried clear packing tape, which didn't work either. I ended up using classic duct tape. which came off easy enough and didn't peel any paint off either in my case (latex).
Instead of using paint remover to clean the stencil, I just wet the surface, then scrubbed it with a standard hand brush and rinsed it off. It came off pretty easy, even after the paint had dried on the stencil for about a day.
All in all this is a great product and it's fun to see the transformation it brings about. I'm already trying to think about my next stencil project.
