Stenciled Floor Feature in Better Homes and Gardens

Great porch stencil idea! Stenciled floor with the Casbah Trellis stencil | Royal Design Studio

With ear to ear smiles, we are SO happy to see yet another Royal Design Studio stencil featured in Better Homes and Gardens’ August Issue as a fabulous painted floor pattern! Thanks to our creative DIY bloggers, we’ve made it to BHG’s “I Did it” column the last two months and now one of our Moroccan stencil designs is the star of a beautifully styled spread. Our Casbah Trellis Moroccan Stencil creates the elegant look and feel of Spanish tiles for magazine pro, Elizabeth Beeler. She stenciled this allover pattern on the concrete floor of her breezy porch in two shades of pink and voila! –  A (much more affordable) Mediterranean veranda with a custom touch!

Sweet stenciled porch! The Casbah Trellis stencil from Royal Design Studio in BHG magazine

Stenciled floors are popping up everywhere these days. From concrete to hardwood, a little color and pattern can make even the smallest porch stand out. Aren’t you just swooning over these fun and fruity colors? We love the punch of fresh pattern and how it livens up this entire outdoor space. Perfect for summer!

Feeling inspired? Check out how easy stenciling a floor like this can be:

We'd love for you to try stenciling to liven up YOUR plain porch or patio. Don't forget to send your stenciled project pics to projects(at)royaldesignstudio.com.

  • Hi Trudy, So sorry about your floor. Stenciling on floors is a great option and you can use different kinds of paint on floors. The most important thing is good surface prep and a good topcoat to protect it. You didn’t say what type of floor surface but here is another floor stencil post on concrete that goes into more detail. http://www.royaldesignstudio.com/blogs/stencil-ideas/8133049-a-stenciled-and-painted-lacy-floor
