HGTV is an interior design powerhousel that speaks “decorating” to the world through its magazine, television shows, and online presence. Their mission is- to “help you find ideas and inspiration to transform your space, and the expert help you need to accomplish it”. We always love combing through all the fun home decor ideas that HGTV fills its magazine pages and online blogs with, and even better yet, we love seeing what they do with Royal Design Studio stencils! HGTV has said, “If you're looking for an affordable and stylish way to spruce up your room, stencils are a smart solution. Much cheaper than wallpaper, stencils can add interest to your walls.” Here’s what they’ve had to say about these 14 room makeovers using our stencils:
The Hollywood Squares stencil is not just for walls - it can be used on other surfaces like floors as well! Designer Trapped in a Lawyer’s Body made the perfect creative choice in covering up her kitchen’s damaged hardwood floors with this geometric pattern. HGTV says, “These wood floors are stenciled with a bold square pattern – a vastly cheaper way to overhaul your floors without re-flooring.”
Create a dramatic entryway and greet your guests with shining style with a metallic stenciled wall like Caroline Lizarraga did. HGTV says, “The Contempo Trellis Wall Stencil in gold paint adds warmth and a touch of Art Deco glamour to the entryway. A black vintage curio cabinet creates an anchor point at the bottom of the stairs and can be used to showcase items as visitors enter the house.” Another HGTV feature says, “Expressing Art Deco elegance, over-scaled stencil in gold paint carries up the stairs from the entryway and into the second-floor hallway, creating a dramatic touch of glamour to the otherwise flat tones.”
Kara Paslay gave her wood table top a makeover using our Moorish de Lis Furniture Stencil. HGTV loves how it turned out and says, “Pattern is not limited to just walls. This dining room layers similar patterns in different ways, bringing attention to two of this surface.” The Moroccan design on reclaimed wood makes the piece look bohemian and eclectic. HGTV also stated, “A visually interesting tabletop makes table setting easy. Coordinating items of a limited color palette, as seen here in the fruit, platter, pitcher and flowers, is a simple and effective way to bring harmony while looking effortless.”
HGTV is always swooning over the next best kitchen makeover idea. They have said, “Stencils are a simple and cost-effective way to create a beautiful backsplash or window valence. Much less permanent than tiles, you or future owners can easily paint over it when the time comes to switch things up. When you're ready for a new pattern, just paint over the one you have and start over!” That’s a great idea, especially after seeing our Hollywood Squares Stencil on the valence above… It looks professionally done!
Designer Laurie March, from HGTV's The House Counselor and HGTV Remodels, decided to add the splash of color via the stenciled walls as opposed to the overdoing with accessories. We think it's gorgeous! The Nova Trellis Stencil is super easy to stencil on a feature wall and here added just the right graphic touch to this nursery for twin boys.
We're so excited to see our Rani Paisley Indian Wall Stencil on HGTV’s Wise Buys! Didn't Kristin F Davis Designs do a wonderful job styling this contemporary bedroom with the stenciled accent wall, gold sconces, and layered patterns??
