Stenciling is a fast, easy, and inexpensive way to customize and update any surface in your house with paint, including walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, and fabric. Stenciling is generally done using either stencil brushes or stencil rollers. You can stencil with craft acrylic paints, latex wall paint, or our specially designed Royal Stencil Creme paints. I was looking for a somewhat mid-century look for a client and found this stencil. I used the stencil on their living room wall and used portions of the stencil on the dining room walls to tie both rooms together.

Even though I’ve been a set decorator and art director.. and styled hundreds of homes- I was a nervous about redoing the entire bathroom. Took me forever to pick a color, as you can see the little squares of green in the before photos. But I’m glad we updated it from that ugly powder blue. After finishing the stencil search- I pulled the trigger and ordered! They arrived on time, packed with instructions and no damage. So I got to work. Once they were on the wall the star stencils gave me a lot of ideas of how to add in more gold and I even did gold leaf on the trim . we’ve also added more gold accents, dish holders, soap, holder, towel rack, etc. I really love the star pattern. It just adds a classic look , and I used a warm gold to compliment the deep veridian. Gave all the white paint and update with a nice crisp white that covers stains. Did a deep clean of the bathroom, replaced the toilet, and voila! Thanks so much will definitely be getting some different stencils in the future for the kitchen nook.
