Our stencils are laser cut in our San Diego, California, USA studio from durable 10mil Mylar plastic sheets. With minimal care, stencils can be used repeatedly for many different projects and on multiple surfaces. Stenciling is a fast, easy, and inexpensive way to customize and update any surface in your house with paint, including walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, and fabric. Stenciling is generally done using either stencil brushes or stencil rollers. You can stencil with craft acrylic paints, latex wall paint, or our specially designed Royal Stencil Creme paints. I ordered the large stencil and it really was large. I painted the mudroom using a small dry brush and that took foreverrrrr! I used a small roller when doing my daughter’s mixed colour room and that was so much faster and easier. Love the look and highly recommend.
This was one of the most difficult stencils I have tackled. I am a very experienced stenciler. Although the quality was exceptional the largeness and thickness made it almost impossible to hold the stencil into the corners. In hindsight site if I had figured it out beforehand I would have trimmed all the edges off so the stencil would butt up to the sides and corners of the walls. There should be bottom, top and side thinner panels to help complete the patterns. It was like a jigsaw puzzle. Finally I started cutting the stencil into pieces and actually did some hand painting. The finished product is not perfect by any means but I love it! It’s my new laundry room.
The stencil looks amazing on your laundry room wall. We know it can be difficult to fill in all those little areas but the end result is worth it! You did a great job with the stenciling. Thanks for sharing!
I cannot believe this is my bedroom. The stencil is simply stunning and everyone who sees it, is in awe. This was my first time stenciling. I mistakingly ordered both sizes, not realizing they aren’t compatible—images are different sizes. Stick with the smaller stencil and order two. I cut up the second one for the edges.
