The House Warmings says, “With my finishes, I am trying to create a soft, almost organic look. To create this soft look, I like to use muted colors which I achieve by doing washes - diluting paint with water and wiping it off right after applying- over the final coat. When using various colors on one stencil project the white wash gives this faded and weathered look which is one of my favorite finishes. This also creates depth, which gives the piece more character. But because of the muted colors, it won’t take over a room."
